- I’m a 22 year old Brooklyn girl living in Philly. After graduating with a degree in Sociology from Haverford College, I was awarded a fellowship by my college to work in a non profit and connect students at Haverford to Philadelphia, strengthening city-school relationship. I currently coordinate a leadership program for teenagers in North Philly, and am helping to establish a social justice institute at my alma mater that will provide service oriented projects as a way to get students into Philly.
I have been living in the city for about 7 months and the verdict is still out on how I feel (Philly and I have a love-hate relationship). I’m the oldest out of 6 and I love my family dearly. When I am not working I am blogging, falling in and out love, eating, and laughing at things that no one else seems to find funny. :-) People seem to be amazed at how I can one minute be talking about the impact of globalization on racial identity then watch Spongebob Square Pants. But we are complex creatures, no?
